Salaar Part 2 may begin filming in June 2027. Prashanth Neel has reportedly shared a fresh update on the Prabhas-Prithviraj Sukumaran sequel.
Salaar Part 2 starring Prabhas reportedly eyes June 2027 shoot.
Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Salaar Part 2 may finally be moving closer to production. The sequel to Prashanth Neel’s 2023 action drama has been one of the most anticipated follow-ups in Prabhas’ lineup, and a fresh update suggests that filming could begin in June 2027.
According to the latest reports, Prashanth Neel recently appeared alongside Prabhas and indicated that the team is planning to take Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam on floors next year. Pre-production work is also said to be underway.
The reported timeline comes after a long wait for fans of the first film, which ended with several unresolved threads around Deva, Varadha and the power struggle inside Khansaar.
Salaar Part 2 May Begin Shoot In June 2027
Prashanth Neel has reportedly revealed that the makers are targeting June 2027 to begin filming the sequel.
The update is significant because Salaar Part 2 has been discussed repeatedly since the release of Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, but a firm production window had remained unclear.
The sequel is expected to continue directly from the events of the first film and take the conflict inside Khansaar into its next phase.
The first part revolved around Deva, played by Prabhas, and Vardharaja Mannar, played by Prithviraj Sukumaran. Their childhood friendship was tested as political rivalries intensified and Varadha found himself fighting to hold on to power.
Deva eventually emerged as his strongest ally, but the film also revealed that their equation was far more complicated than it initially appeared.
With the second instalment carrying the title Shouryaanga Parvam, the story is expected to delve deeper into Deva’s past, the rival factions of Khansaar and the fallout of the first film’s final revelations.
Prabhas And Prithviraj Sukumaran Expected To Return
Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran are expected to reprise their roles as Deva and Varadha respectively.
The first film also featured Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Easwari Rao, Shruti Haasan, Sriya Reddy and John Vijay in prominent roles.
Prashanth Neel had built Salaar around the politics and internal warfare of the fictional city-state of Khansaar, using Deva and Varadha’s friendship as the emotional core of the story.
The sequel is expected to push that relationship into more volatile territory as the battle for control intensifies.
Prabhas Has A Packed Lineup Ahead
Before Salaar Part 2 goes on floors, Prabhas already has several major projects lined up.
He was last seen in Maruthi’s The Raja Saab, which also featured Sanjay Dutt, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan and Riddhi Kumar.
Next, he is expected to appear in Hanu Raghavapudi’s Fauzi, co-starring Imanvi.
Prabhas also has Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit in the pipeline. The action thriller will feature him as an officer, with Triptii Dimri playing the female lead and Vivek Oberoi reportedly appearing as the antagonist.
Apart from these films, Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 is also part of his upcoming slate.
If Salaar Part 2 does begin filming in June 2027 as reported, it would bring Prabhas back into Prashanth Neel’s violent, politically charged world of Khansaar after a gap of several years.
