Sharad Kelkar, who voices Ravan in The Legend of Hanuman, recently visited Delhi’s Luv Kush Ramlila at the Red Fort Grounds ahead of the animated series’ seventh season premiere on JioHotstar.
The actor joined thousands of attendees at the popular Ramlila and experienced the live retelling of the Ramayana before the new season of the series began streaming on October 23. Kelkar interacted with people at the venue and spoke about his own association with the Ramayana through The Legend of Hanuman, in which he has voiced Ravan across multiple seasons.
Sharad Kelkar On Experiencing Luv Kush Ramlila In Delhi
Speaking about his visit, Sharad said he was struck by the scale of the gathering and the enthusiasm surrounding the performance.
“It was wonderful to be in Delhi and experience the energy and devotion at Luv Kush Ramlila. The Ramayana holds a special place in our cultural consciousness and seeing so many people come together to celebrate its stories is truly heartening,” he said.
For Sharad, playing Ravan in The Legend of Hanuman has also allowed him to spend considerable time with the character beyond the most familiar interpretation of the antagonist.
“Having been associated with The Legend of Hanuman and voicing Ravan, I have had the opportunity to explore these characters and their many layers more closely,” he said.
The actor added that seeing the same stories being performed before a large live audience offered another perspective on how the epic continues to be retold.
“It is special to see how these stories continue to find new expressions and connect with audiences across generations,” Sharad added.
What To Expect From The Legend Of Hanuman Season 7
