The Vvaan: Sidharth Malhotra, Tamannaah Bhatia’s Film Gets U/A 16+ Certificate From CBFC With Zero Cuts.
Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s The Vvaan has cleared the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) without a single cut or modification. The film has been awarded a U/A 16+ certificate and will release in theatres on September 25, 2026. The certification comes after the CBFC has sought cuts and changes in several films in recent weeks. According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, The Vvaan was cleared on Tuesday without any changes.
The Vvaan gets U/A 16+ certificate
An industry insider told the portal that the certification was not surprising, given the way the film has reportedly handled its violence, romance and dialogues. “This is not entirely unexpected. The makers seem to have told the story they wanted to while keeping the violence and romance in check. Even the dialogues must have been written appropriately. In such a scenario, there was probably little reason for the CBFC to ask for any cuts or modifications.”
The film stars Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead, with Anup Soni, Sunil Grover, Shweta Tiwari and Maniesh Paul also part of the cast.
The Vvaan runtime is over two hours
The Vvaan will run for 136.25 minutes, or 2 hours, 16 minutes and 25 seconds, according to the report. The first half runs for around 1 hour and 4 minutes, while the second half is around 1 hour and 12 minutes long. The film is directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, who is known for directing the popular OTT series Panchayat.
The Vvaan release date changed
The Vvaan was earlier scheduled to arrive in theatres on August 28, 2026. It was set to clash with Yash and Kiara Advani’s Toxic, but the release was pushed by a month, avoiding the box office clash. The film is now set to release in the theatres on September 25. While there is no major Bollywood release clashing with it, The Vvaan will face competition from the re-release of Avengers: Endgame, which is also arriving in theatres this Friday.
The film’s trailer received a mixed response, but its songs Chhathi Maiya and Thummak Thummak have drawn attention ahead of its theatrical release.
