What Happens In The Vvaan?
The Vvaan follows Rishi, played by Sidharth Malhotra, a rational and city-bred man who travels to his ancestral village in Bihar with his wife Mamta (Tamannaah Bhatia). The couple arrives with a straightforward plan — to sell the land Rishi has inherited. But things soon take a strange turn when he learns about a forest that villagers are strictly forbidden from entering after sunset. Rishi doesn’t take the warning seriously and sees the belief as nothing more than superstition. He even supports Deepak (Sunil Grover), who wants to clear a section of the forest to improve connectivity for the village.
However, everything changes when Rishi enters the forbidden forest one night and accidentally breaks an ancient seal. His actions unleash a supernatural force linked to the long-standing legend of the Van Devi. As unusual incidents begin to unfold, Rishi is forced to question everything he has always believed in. What starts as a simple trip to sell ancestral property soon turns into a search for answers about the forest, the Van Devi and the secrets that have remained hidden for generations.
The Vvaan Review
News18 Showsha gave The Vvaan a 3-star rating. “The Vvaan has an interesting idea at its core and deserves credit for attempting to bring Indian folklore and fantasy together. It is entertaining in parts, with smart dialogues, some genuinely funny moments and committed performances from its cast. However, an inconsistent screenplay, forced humour and unnecessary songs prevent it from becoming a consistently engaging experience,” a part of our review reads.
