Saif Ali Khan joins Instagram, shares first official post
Saif Ali Khan has finally entered the Instagram chat! The actor, who has stayed away from having a public social media account for years, has now made his official debut. And yes, fans are already curious to see what the Nawab of Pataudi has been up to online.
While wife Kareena Kapoor Khan has often shared pictures and videos featuring Saif, the actor has mostly stayed out of the social media game himself. But that has now changed, and he has even made his first move on the platform.
Looks like Kareena was always going to be his first follow! Soon after joining Instagram on Monday, Saif followed his wife, who followed him back. The actor has often popped up on Kareena’s account, but this is the first time fans can follow him on his own official profile.
As for his first post, Saif has mentioned ‘Pataudi Library’. Posting pictures of himself looking dapper in a blue suit, Saif wrote in his post, “Pataudi Library.. Judging books by their cover..”
Saif’s Instagram debut is particularly interesting because the actor had previously admitted that he already had a secret account. In a 2024 interview with HT City, he revealed that he occasionally browsed the app but wasn’t exactly enjoying the experience.
“I do have the Instagram app, and a secret account, too. I browse sometimes, but don’t enjoy it much. And every time I browse it for a little while, I keep promising to delete it and I end up not deleting it,” he had said.
He had also explained why staying away from public social media suited him just fine. “I don’t want to get stuck in a position where I have to post other people’s things. I really enjoy the fact that nobody is really interested in asking me to promote something because they know that I’m not on social media. So, I get a lot of peace and quiet.”
On the work front, Saif was recently seen in Priyadarshan’s Haiwaan, which also stars Akshay Kumar. The film reunited the two actors after 17 years and released in theatres in September, but received a tepid response at the box office.
