Akriti Agarwal confirms reconciliation with Prithvi Shaw after calling off their engagement, saying she was “misguided” by outside opinions.
Akriti Agarwal confirms she and Prithvi Shaw are back together.
Weeks after announcing that she and cricketer Prithvi Shaw had called off their engagement, actor and influencer Akriti Agarwal has now confirmed that the couple has reconciled. In a fresh statement shared on Instagram, Akriti said the two have spoken openly about their differences and have decided to give their relationship another chance.
Akriti also addressed her role in the earlier split, saying that opinions from people close to her had influenced how she looked at Prithvi and their relationship. The development comes less than a month after she publicly announced their separation in September. The couple had got engaged earlier this year.
Akriti Agarwal Says She Was ‘Misguided’
Akriti titled her new Instagram statement “A personal clarification” and spoke directly about what led her to call off the engagement.
“When I called off our engagement, I let the opinions of people close to me — who seemed to know our relationship better than we did — influence how I saw my fiancé and our relationship. I feel I was misguided, and I made a decision without giving us the honest conversation we deserved,” she wrote.
She did not name the people whose opinions had influenced her decision.
Akriti also took responsibility for how things unfolded, adding, “I take responsibility for that decision and the hurt it caused.”
‘We Have Chosen To Be Together Again’
Akriti then confirmed that she and Prithvi had worked through the situation privately before deciding to reconcile.
“We have since spoken openly, understood each other and chosen to be together again,” her statement read.
She added, “Together, we are enough for each other, and we don’t need anyone else.”
Akriti said that she now wants decisions about their future to remain between the two of them rather than being influenced by outside voices.
“This time, I want our future to be guided by our own understanding, trust and love,” she wrote, before ending the note with, “Please respect our decision as we begin again.”
Prithvi has not issued a separate public statement on their reconciliation yet.
The Couple Had Called Off Their Engagement In September
Prithvi and Akriti announced their engagement in March 2026. In September, however, Akriti revealed that they had decided to separate, citing different goals and circumstances surrounding their future. At the time, she said the decision had been mutual and asked people not to speculate about what had happened between them.
Their relationship had faced speculation even before the breakup announcement. In July, some of Akriti’s social-media posts about being cheated on triggered rumours that she was referring to Prithvi. She subsequently denied that there was any trouble between them, saying that the posts were not about the cricketer and that they were still engaged and happy together.
The September announcement eventually confirmed that the engagement had been called off.
