Visually impaired Hanuman Ansh singer Sunil Lodhi receives Bollywood offers after his song becomes popular.
Sunil Lodhi, whose voice in the song Maine Tere Hi Bharose Naiya Sagar Mein Daar Dai from the Bollywood film Hanuman Ansh has struck a chord with listeners, is witnessing a dramatic change in his life. The visually impaired folk singer from Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district is now receiving offers from Bollywood, invitations for live performances across India and new opportunities in Bundeli music.
The growing popularity of his song has also followed him home. While one admirer booked an entire theatre show so that Sunil could experience his own film with his family and villagers, another reportedly gifted him a Pulsar motorcycle.
Sunil Lodhi Gets Bollywood Offers After Hanuman Ansh
Sunil hails from Agra village in the Jaisinagar block of Sagar district. His journey towards wider recognition had begun before Hanuman Ansh, when a social media reel featuring him singing More Sankat Ke Katiya Hanuman Ji went viral.
The online attention eventually took him to Mumbai and paved the way for his entry into Bollywood. Following the response to Hanuman Ansh, Sunil has reportedly received offers to sing more film songs. His demand as a live performer has also increased, with several shows already booked around the Ganesh festival. He has additionally finalised deals for more than four Bundeli songs.
Hanuman Ansh is based on the life of Neem Karoli Baba and depicts several incidents associated with miracles. Sunil, meanwhile, believes an extraordinary incident from his own life strengthened his faith in Lord Hanuman.
Sunil Recalls Incident That Deepened His Faith In Hanuman
Speaking to Local18, Sunil recalled once venturing outside his village with friends. After his friends left, he lost his way near a narwa and struggled to find the route home.
Unable to see, Sunil said the experience left him distressed and questioning why God had given him a life in which he could not even find his way back home.
It was then, he recalled, that he heard a buzzing bumblebee. According to Sunil, the insect first sat on his hand and then began moving ahead while buzzing close enough for him to follow the sound.
Believing it might have been divine help, Sunil followed the buzzing until he reached the road, crossed it and found the correct route. The bumblebee then disappeared.
Sunil said the experience convinced him of God’s presence and strengthened his devotion to Hanuman. He now credits the changes unfolding in his life to the blessings of Hanuman.
Fan Books Entire Theatre Show For Sunil And His Village
Sunil recently had another memorable experience when he arrived at Platinum Plaza in Makronia to attend a screening of Hanuman Ansh. He was accompanied by his parents, grandmother, siblings, relatives and people from his village.
It was reportedly his first visit to a movie theatre. While Sunil could not watch the film himself, he said he could feel the happiness surrounding the occasion.
His arrival also drew a crowd of admirers who queued up for photographs and selfies. Sunil was welcomed with flower garlands before being handed a microphone.
He then treated the audience to the bhajan that has become closely associated with his rise, performing it once again to the sound of his traditional tamura. The theatre responded with applause.
