Diljit Dosanjh’s October 30 Delhi concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium gets police permission

Delhi Police has granted permission for Diljit Dosanjh’s Delhi concert, scheduled for October 30 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Delhi Police told CNN-News18 reporter Anvit Srivastava that, after multiple meetings during which the organisers presented detailed plans addressing security concerns, permission has now been granted.

Earlier, BookMyShow had also confirmed in a statement that reports of permission being denied for the concert were incorrect. As per IANS, the BookMyShow team confirmed, “Reports suggesting that Diljit Dosanjh’s AURA India Tour concert in New Delhi on 30 October has been cancelled are inaccurate. Permission for the event had been temporarily withheld, not cancelled, pending additional safety, traffic and crowd-management measures requested by Delhi Police in view of the festive season.”

“BookMyShow Live has since held a cordial and constructive meeting with Delhi Police and presented a detailed plan addressing the required arrangements. We have assured the authorities of full compliance with all applicable security, traffic and crowd-management requirements. Following these discussions and the submission of the requisite plan, permission for the event has been reconsidered and issued. The concert is proceeding as planned, and fans can look forward to being part of the experience,” the statement further reads.

The statement concluded by confirming, “BookMyShow Live remains committed to working closely with Delhi Police and all relevant authorities to ensure a safe, smooth and enjoyable experience for concertgoers, while minimising inconvenience to local residents and commuters. We thank our fans for their patience and understanding. We look forward to welcoming you to an unforgettable evening with Diljit Dosanjh. See you in Delhi on 30 October!”

About the Threat to Diljit’s Mumbai Concert

A shocking report by FPJ claimed that fresh threats allegedly targeting Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh had been issued. The report said that Big B’s Jalsa house in Juhu is a target, while Diljit Dosanjh’s concert venue in Mumbai is also under threat.

Diljit is bringing his ongoing Aura World Tour to India, with seven shows planned across November and December. The announcement comes after the singer’s massive Dil-Luminati Tour in 2024. Diljit has spent much of the year taking the Aura World Tour through Europe and North America. He will now bring the show back to Indian audiences, something he says comes with its own feeling.
