‘When Salman Speaks, Everyone Shuts Up’: Kunal Kohli Praises Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 20 Stand
The latest Bigg Boss 20 Weekend Ka Vaar episode is one that viewers are likely to remember for a long time. Salman Khan did not hold back as he spoke strongly about issues that have become increasingly difficult to ignore — from trolling and body-shaming on social media to the paparazzi taking inappropriate pictures of celebrities. Salman questioned the growing lack of basic decency online and called out not just those who post such content, but also those who engage with it. Now, filmmaker Kunal Kohli has shared a video message, hailing Salman Khan for taking a strong stand and making very important and relevant points.
Kunal Kohli Praises Salman Khan
Kunal Kohli took to X (formerly Twitter), and wrote, “Salman Khan respect! you Made the most important points on social media etiquette, behaviour, trolls & paps and the people who follow n encourage such behaviour. Aur jab bhai bolta hai toh uske baad koi nahin bol sakta.”

In his video message, Kunal Kohli said, “Salman has just made the most important and the most relevant points on the paparazzi, and the lack of social media etiquette in the last couple of years or decades. Social media has grown but the responsibility, the etiquette, the behaviour has declined beyond humanitarian levels. The shots that paps take of women getting off cars, sitting on tables, back shots, trolls talking about people who have aged, people who have gained weight, lost weight- it has all gone out of control.”
‘When Salman Talks, People Listen,’ Says Kunal Kohli
Reacting to Salman’s comments, Kohli pointed out the impact the superstar’s words had inside the Bigg Boss house. “The points that Salman made- so beautifully, so correctly and with so much authority- that Bigg Boss 20 participants were standing up and listening to him with awe. And that is the power of a personality like Salman. That when he talks, people listen,” he said.
He suggested that there are people with considerable public reach and power who could speak up on such issues but often choose not to. “That is the power of a few people who have the position and the power but sadly don’t talk,” he said.
Kunal Kohli slammed the paparazzi for clicking such inappropriate photos of celebs, while also slamming those who follow and subscribe to accounts that post such content. “You cannot hide under the fact that you are in the public eye, you are going to be faced with all these things. No. I am sorry. There are levels of decency, respectability and basic human courtesy that everyone in society has to follow. And the people who are watching it? You are as bad as the people who are posting it,” he said.
“As for Salman, respect dude, respect. You have won my respect and my heart,” said Kunal Kohli, further added, “When Salman speaks, everyone shuts up. And this time he has really spoken and we should listen and follow what he said, and ensure that this doesn’t happen.”
What Did Salman Khan Say?
Salman slammed paparazzi for taking a back shot of actresses and said, “And then the one shot they take from behind, which none of the heroines like? There must be a few who say it’s okay, I don’t mind it. But what about those who don’t like it? I recently saw Saiee Manjrekar was so awkward with that, Neha Dhupia fought against it. My own niece, she was walking, and they kept clicking from behind. And what did the caption say? Guess who it is. Who are they to do this?”
“I am saying this to all the girls who don’t like this. Jahan aisa hua, ghoom ke chamaat maaro. Bolna na apni maa behenon ka yeh shot lete ja, aur humko dikha. (When such a thing happens, just turn around and slap them. Ask them to click their mother or sister like this and show it to you). Disgusting people. They do this all the time at every function,” an angry Salman Khan added.
