Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have made London their home with their children, choosing a quieter life away from the intense public attention they experienced in India. In 2025, Madhuri Dixit’s husband, Dr Shriram Nene, recalled a conversation with Anushka about why the couple was considering moving to London.
Dr Shriram Nene Recalls His Conversation With Anushka Sharma
Speaking to YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, Dr Shriram Nene spoke about meeting Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma and shared his respect for the cricketer. He described Virat as a decent person and spoke about the attention that comes with his fame. “I have a lot of respect (for him). We’ve met him multiple times; he’s just a decent human being.”
Dr Shriram then recalled a conversation he had with Anushka about the couple’s plans to move to London. He said their success also meant that even their personal lives attracted constant attention. “We had a conversation with Anushka one day, and it was very interesting. They were thinking about moving to London because they can’t enjoy their success (here). And we appreciate what they go through, because anything they do attracts attention. We almost become isolated.”
Why Anushka Sharma And Virat Kohli Wanted A Quieter Life
With both Anushka and Virat being among the most recognisable names in India, their public appearances and personal milestones have often attracted attention. The couple have since shifted to London with their children. Their move has also meant that they can raise daughter Vamika and son Akaay away from some of the intense public scrutiny they faced in India.
Anushka and Virat married in an intimate ceremony in Italy in December 2017. They welcomed their daughter Vamika in 2021 and their son Akaay in 2024.
Anushka Sharma’s Life Away From Films
While Virat has continued to remain one of the biggest names in Indian cricket, Anushka has largely stayed away from films since Zero, which released in 2018. She later completed work on Chakda Xpress, but the film has not been released. The actor also stepped away from her production company, Clean Slate Filmz, in 2022.
