Sai Pallavi talks about her Ramayana co-star Ranbir Kapoor

Sai Pallavi took the stage at the Ramayana event to share her experience of working with the film’s cast and crew. When it came to Ranbir Kapoor, the actress said, “Now, I’m going to speak about dear Ram. Every time he has met me, I’ve noticed I wouldn’t have watched a Tamil movie released that week or month. But he has updated himself, and he’ll ask me about it. He has watched Amaran, and we have discussed it. But even Maharaja or Baththa, he has stayed updated.”

Sai also revealed that Ranbir has a deep appreciation for South Indian cinema, particularly Tamil films, and makes an effort to watch new releases and discuss them with her. She added, “He makes it a point to watch it and pass his appreciation in some or the other form. Which, I think, is so kind. You don’t have to do that. But it’s so nice that you do that. It’s like he has a library for them in his mind.”

Sai Pallavi then spoke about Ranbir Kapoor’s portrayal of Lord Ram, saying that while audiences have seen him in films such as Animal and Barfi, his role in Ramayana showcases a different side of his acting. She noted that the character is restrained and exudes an inner peace that reflects in his eyes. Sai also expressed her happiness and excitement at witnessing Ranbir’s performance in the role.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra and Yash. It features Ranbir as Ram, Sai as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The ensemble cast also includes Ravi Dubey, Sunny Deol, Anupam Kher, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Vivek Oberoi, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, Arun Govil, Indira Krishnan and Lara Dutta. The first instalment is scheduled to release in theatres on November 5, 2026, while the second part is slated for release in 2027.
