Harleen Sethi and Anup Soni say Parineeti Chopra walked into Shaque set with back issues. Soon, slow drives and family presence led them to play a guessing game on her pregnancy.

It was during the shoot of Shaque: Trust No One that Parineeti Chopra learnt that she was expecting her first child.

Parineeti Chopra announced her pregnancy in August last year and welcomed a baby boy in October. And it was during the shoot of Shaque: Trust No One that she learnt that she was expecting her first child. Recently, she opened up on the same and praised the makers of the series for modifying physically demanding and action-heavy sequences to ensure her safety.

They also arranged for her to stay close to the set to avoid difficult daily travel via Shimla roads. Now, speaking exclusively to News18, her co-stars Harleen Sethi, Anup Soni and Dhruv Chaudhary say they had no clue about her pregnancy. “She didn’t tell us directly. She came in with a back problem. Eventually, her family started coming in. It was very sweet,” Harleen shares.

“Raghav (Chadha) and auntie (Parineeti’s mother) stayed with us through the shoot. Then her mother-in-law and brothers came. That’s when our guessing game began stronger. It was only last week during the promotions that she told me that she figured it out after half the shoot was done,” she adds. For Anup, it was Parineeti’s unusually slow drive that made him wonder if she was pregnant.

“There was an action sequence that she had to shoot, and the director and producers had been informed, but none of us knew she was pregnant. We were all staying at the same hotel and had a 7:00 am call time. That day, I left ten minutes late, and while driving to the location, my driver pointed out a car crawling at a speed of 10-15 kmph along the narrow hilly road,” he recalls.

Anup further acontinues, “It turned out to be Parineeti’s car, and we were told she was driving slowly because of a back problem. I thought that if we drive at this speed, I would be late by 40 minutes. Nobody would tell Pari anything as she’s a big star but I can’t afford to be late. Then I went back and told others and that’s how our guessing game began.”

Dhruv also figured that there was more to it than a back issue. “We knew that kuch toh ho raha hai. I remember seeing Pari’s car driving slowly and she was walking in front of it. I asked her if she needs me to drop her but she told me, ‘It’s okay. I’m taking my time and going.'” Dhruv says. The trio, however, showers praise on the production team for taking care of Parineeti during her first trimester.

“Even when she had a back problem, we all cared for her. Pregnancy toh bahot badi baat hai. Imagine how much she was cared for when the makers learnt that she’s pregant!” Anup chimes in. Talking about how it was fair for her to not talk about her pregnancy with her co-stars, he remarks “Sometimes, there’s a superstition that people shouldn’t come to know of a pregnancy in its earlier weeks.”

Her co-stars Harleen Sethi, Anup Soni, and Dhruv Chaudhary initially had no clue about her pregnancy. They started guessing when her family members began visiting the set, and when they noticed her driving unusually slowly along narrow hilly roads due to what was initially blamed on a back problem.
