Nushrratt Bharuccha is back home after successfully undergoing spine surgery following the accident she suffered in Bali earlier this month. The actress’ team issued a fresh health update on Thursday, confirming that the procedure went well and that she has now been discharged from the hospital.
Nushrratt had sustained a fracture in her spine during her Bali trip and was subsequently airlifted to Mumbai for further treatment. Visuals of the actress arriving in the city on a stretcher had surfaced online at the time.
Her latest update brings some relief after nearly two weeks of treatment, although her team has made it clear that a complete recovery will take time.
Nushrratt Bharuccha’s Spine Surgery Successful
In an official statement, Nushrratt’s team confirmed that the actress has undergone the surgery advised following her spinal injury.
“After going through a difficult and challenging phase following her unfortunate accident, Nushrratt Bharuccha has successfully undergone spine surgery. We are relieved to share that the surgery went well, and she has now been discharged from the hospital,” the statement read.
Nushrratt is now recuperating at home rather than remaining under hospital care. Her representatives said she continues to maintain a positive outlook while concentrating on rebuilding her strength.
“Nushrratt is finally back home, surrounded by care and comfort, as she begins the important journey towards recovery. While the road to complete recovery will take time, she remains positive and is focusing on healing and regaining her strength,” her team added.
They also thanked everyone who had reached out while the actress was undergoing treatment. “We sincerely thank everyone for the overwhelming love, concern, prayers and good wishes extended to her during this difficult time.”
Actress Was Airlifted To Mumbai After Bali Accident
Nushrratt suffered the spinal fracture while she was in Bali on a work-cum-leisure trip. She was initially admitted to a hospital there before arrangements were made to bring her back to India for specialised treatment.
After reaching Mumbai, the actress was seen being transported from an ambulance on a stretcher, with family members and friends accompanying her as she entered the hospital. Her team had indicated that surgery would be required once doctors in Mumbai completed their evaluation.
The exact circumstances surrounding the accident have not been publicly detailed.
Nushrratt Had Shared Glimpses From Hospital
Nushrratt had begun sharing brief updates with her followers even before her discharge.
In her first social media post after the injury, she shared a view of the sunset from the hospital and wrote, “Been chasing sunsets forever, And just like that.. my view changed. But, Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost.”
Days later, she posted a video from her hospital room in which she was seen smiling as members of the medical staff attended to her. Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s Gerua from Dilwale was playing on the television in front of her while she had her meal.
