Hanuman Ansh has recovered more than 50x its investment.
A group of young brahmacharis from a local gurukul caught attention at a multiplex when they arrived in traditional robes to watch Hanuman Ansh. A video from the screening showed the students entering the theatre and taking their seats for the film based on the life and teachings of spiritual leader Neem Karoli Baba.
The group’s appearance at the screening stood out as they watched the Vishal Chaturvedi directorial alongside other theatre-goers. Hanuman Ansh, headlined by Shobhinaw Satyaa, was released in theatres on August 7.
Hanuman Ansh Gets Stronger In Its Fifth Week
The screening comes as Hanuman Ansh continues to perform strongly at the box office despite a slow start. The film did not have a major star at the centre of its campaign or the kind of promotional spending usually associated with a theatrical success of this scale.
Instead, the film has built momentum during its theatrical run, with its biggest gains coming after its first two weeks.
As of September 8, Hanuman Ansh has crossed Rs 130 crore in domestic net collections. The film earned an estimated Rs 9.50 crore on Day 32, taking its India net total to Rs 131.63 crore, according to trade figures reported on September 8.
Its India gross has crossed Rs150 crore, while reports have put its worldwide gross at around Rs 156 crore.

Taran Adarsh On Hanuman Ansh’s Late Box Office Surge
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh previously spoke to News18 about the film’s unusual box-office trajectory. He said the rise in collections after the third week was a clear sign that audiences were recommending the film to others.
“I think people are genuinely interested. Otherwise, people won’t be just going into the theatres like that. Everyone’s so busy nowadays. Why would they want to step into a theatre, spend money and watch a film unless it’s worth it? The fact that the collections have risen after the third week is an eye-opener for the industry, actually. The first week was bad. The second week was a total collapse. But from the third week onwards, there was a turnaround, and how!”
