Amitabh Bachchan turned 84 on Sunday, October 11, and social media was filled with birthday wishes for the Bollywood legend. From fellow actors to his fans waiting outside his Mumbai home, everyone had a little something to say on his special day. But one birthday wish that caught everyone’s attention came from his daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Aishwarya took to Instagram on Sunday to wish Amitabh, sharing a lovely picture of him with his granddaughter, Aaradhya Bachchan. The photo shows Aaradhya hugging her grandfather as they pose together. Amitabh is seen in an oversized jacket and a beanie.
Sharing the picture, Aishwarya wrote, “Happy Birthday dearest Pa-Dadajiii. Love and God Bless. always.”
Aishwarya wasn’t the only one sending birthday wishes to Amitabh. Sanjay Dutt, Chiranjeevi, Prabhas, Anupam Kher, Ajay Devgn, Farah Khan, Kajol and Shatrughan Sinha were among the celebrities who wished him on social media.
As he does every year, Amitabh also stepped out of his Jalsa residence to greet fans who had gathered outside to celebrate his birthday. Standing in front of a giant garland put together by his fans, the actor waved to the cheering crowd. He was dressed in a red kurta and a matching shawl.
The birthday celebrations also made their way to Kaun Banega Crorepati. Amitabh’s son, Abhishek Bachchan, joined him on the show, while Madhuri Dixit, Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan came in as special guests. A warm hug between Amitabh and Abhishek was one of the lovely moments from the episode.
Amitabh has a busy schedule ahead. He is currently shooting for Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 and has often spoken about how his hectic work routine leaves him with little time to sleep. He will also return as Ashwatthama in the sequel to Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD, which stars Prabhas and Kamal Haasan. Deepika Padukone, who appeared in the first film, will not be part of the sequel, the makers have confirmed.
