Sara Ali Khan weeps during Golden Temple visit with Ayushmann Khurrana
Sara Ali Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana spent Dussehra at one of the most peaceful places in Amritsar, the Golden Temple. The two actors visited the holy shrine to seek blessings ahead of their upcoming film, Udta Teer. Pictures from their visit have been doing the rounds on social media, but it is a video of Sara getting emotional during her prayers that has caught everyone’s attention.
Sara also shared a picture with Ayushmann from their visit. Both actors were dressed in white and had their hands folded in prayer. Sara had covered her head with a dupatta, as is customary at the shrine.
Sharing the picture with her fans, Sara wrote, “Happy Dussehra. Wishing everyone love, luck and laughter.”
But that’s not the only moment from their visit that people are talking about. A video shows Sara standing in prayer at Darbar Sahib, looking visibly emotional as tears roll down her face. The clip has since gone viral on social media.

Sara Ali Khan, daughter of Saif Ali Khan and the erstwhile Nawab of Pataudi, was recently seen crying uncontrollably at the Golden Temple. She may have access to wealth, fame and privileges that millions can only dream of. Yet, here she was, visibly overwhelmed at one of Sikhism’s holiest shrines, seemingly seeking solace or praying for something.
Perhaps this is a reminder for Sara, and nepo kids in general, to pause and reflect on all that life has already given them.
While it is natural to pray for what we desire, perhaps we should also learn to express gratitude for what we have. Millions of people lead far more difficult lives, with fewer opportunities and resources, yet find reasons to smile and remain content.
Sometimes, the greatest prayer is not asking God for more, but thanking Him for what we already have.

The actors’ visit comes just days before Udta Teer arrives in theatres on October 23. The film was earlier supposed to release on October 9, but the makers later pushed the date. The film marks the directorial debut of Akash A Kaushik. Along with Ayushmann and Sara, it features Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Suhail Nayyar, Gulshan Grover, Mukul Dev, Raghubir Yadav, Brijendra Kala, Sandeep Anand, Supriya Pilgaonkar and Smita Tambe.
However, the film has also run into trouble over its release in Nepal. Recent reports stated that the country’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology had refused to allow public screenings of the film. The decision came after Nepal’s Central Film Censor Board reviewed the film on Ashwin 19, 2083, according to the Nepali calendar. The board found that the film’s production violated Section 8(3) of the National Cinema (Production, Exhibition and Distribution) Act, 2026.
Following the review, the ministry’s Audio-Visual and Broadcasting Division issued a letter stating that the film would not be granted permission for public screening in Nepal.
Udta Teer is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain. The film also brings Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment together once again.
For Ayushmann and Sara, this is their second film together after Pati Patni Aur Woh Do. Udta Teer is set to release in theatres on October 23.
