YouTuber Sourav Joshi has responded to criticism after a truth-and-dare segment in one of his recent vlogs sparked backlash online. The controversy began after Sourav asked his wife, Avantika Bhatt, to drink water from their pet dog Oreo’s bowl as part of the challenge.
The moment drew sharp reactions on social media, with several users questioning both the dare and the hygiene involved. Sourav has now addressed the criticism in a new vlog, saying that the bowl had been cleaned before Avantika used it and insisting that hygiene was not compromised.
Sourav Joshi Says Oreo’s Bowl Was Properly Washed
Speaking about the criticism, Sourav said, “Jo truth and dare hamne kiya tha, to Avantika ne jo Oreo ka bartan hai usme pani piya tha. To bahot log bol rahe hain, ‘Tum aise kaise kar sakte ho’, ye sab wo sab.”
He then explained that the bowl had been washed before water was poured into it for the dare.
The YouTuber also said that the water used at home is the same water they give Oreo.
“Jo ham pani peete hain aur Oreo ko bhi dete hain wo koi normal pani nahi hai guys,” he said.
Sourav went on to reveal that his family drinks alkaline water, something he said he does not usually discuss in his vlogs.
“Main aise batata nahi hoon. Par ye paani bhi acha hai aur hamne bartan bhi dhoya tha,” he added.
He further stressed that Oreo is treated as a member of the family and claimed that he has, on occasion, even eaten from the dog’s food.
‘Dare To Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai’
Sourav also defended the nature of the challenge itself, arguing that dares can involve unpredictable or extreme tasks.
“Dare to kuch bhi ho sakta hai. Aur bhi extreme cheezein hongi,” he said.
Addressing the hygiene concerns more directly, he maintained that cleanliness is taken seriously in their household.
The explanation, however, came only after the original clip had already triggered a wave of criticism online.

Several users reacted strongly to the video, accusing Sourav of humiliating Avantika through the dare.
