Given the success of Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam franchise, especially the latest Drishyam 3, is a fourth film on the cards as well? Director Abhishek Pathak has finally answered the question. The future of the franchise has created much anticipation among fans, especially after Drishyam 3 managed to mint more than Rs 300 crore in only 10 days.

In a recent chat with SCREEN, Abhishek said, “All of us believe this is the last part of the film. Obviously, the audience is loving it and talking about it. But Drishyam isn’t the franchise where we can just decide to make another film. It’s very much dependent on the story, and the story has ended. I always thought the ending was very poetic. It’s a love letter to the franchise.”

“The closure is beautifully done. That’s what people liked about it. A lot of people are telling me there can be a part 4. If you get to it, there can be an enormous amount of story to it, but that’s not the point. We had to stop it at some point, and this was a beautiful ending to the franchise,” the filmmaker added.

He also said, “Drishyam 3 is only in its second week right now. People are still coming to theatres in huge numbers. The second weekend was more than Rs 60 crore. That’s a figure too many films don’t achieve even in their lifetime. So, let’s not spoil it for them.” Drishyam 3 has become the highest-grossing film of Ajay Devgn’s career.

Drishyam 3 Review

News18 Showsha gave Drishyam 3 a 3-star rating. “Drishyam 3: The Conclusion is a gripping and fast-paced thriller that understands the appeal of its franchise. It keeps you invested and benefits from strong performances, particularly from Ajay Devgn, Jaideep Ahlawat, Prakash Raj and Kamlesh Sawant. However, the film’s biggest strength is also its weakness. It is not a bad film, but it sticks closely to the Drishyam formula, making it familiar. It is not a grand conclusion that the franchise deserved,” a part of our review reads.
