Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu recently spoke about her decision to keep her wedding to former Danish badminton player Mathias Boe away from the public eye. She said that she saw no reason to make a formal announcement about the wedding or release photos and videos from the celebrations. She also added that she does not want to subject her husband, Mathias Boe, to public scrutiny.

For the unversed, Taapsee Pannu and Mathias Boe had a court marriage in December 2023. They later celebrated their wedding with an intimate ceremony in Udaipur in March 2024, attended by close friends and family members. The couple chose to keep the celebrations private and did not release an official set of wedding photographs.

‘Why Should I Have A Public Announcement?’

In an interaction with Nayandeep Rakshit on his YouTube channel, Taapsee addressed the decision to keep the wedding private. She explained that she has always preferred to maintain a distinction between her professional career and personal life.

“Why should I have a public announcement? I’ve always kept my personal and professional lives apart. Not that I want to hide them, am scared or embarrassed of them. But I’ve refrained from making announcements. I think it’s personal, and I’d want to keep it like that. It feels very weird to put out a press note or a deck of photos and videos,” she said.

Taapsee Pannu On Leaked Wedding Video

Despite the couple’s efforts to keep the celebrations private, a video clip from the wedding eventually surfaced online in April 2024.

A video circulating on social media showed Taapsee’s bridal entry and parts of the varmala ceremony. In the clip, she was seen wearing a traditional red outfit, while Mathias wore an ivory sherwani.

Speaking about the video clip getting leaked, Taapsee said, “That was very embarrassing. But that happens with people who’re not invited by you, but by your family. Your family wants them to be there, but you maybe don’t know them enough. Some of them didn’t understand the basic brief given to them.”

She added that she did not want to take away the guests’ phones as she believes it is very childish. “I would want to believe that those people will value it when I’m cordially telling them that even if you click pictures, please don’t post them. Almost everybody was clicking videos… When you see a picture or a video, it’s not just about me. It’s about a lot of other people, including my husband, who’s not the kind of public figure I am. He’s a sports star, but people are not that crazy about the personal life of the person, especially in this part of the world and the kind of a sport he’s in. So, he’s open to the kind of scrutiny I’m used to,” she said.

Taapsee And Mathias’ Relationship

Taapsee and Mathias have been together since 2013. The two kept their relationship hush-hush over the years. Although they occasionally appeared together in photographs, Taapsee rarely discussed their personal life in detail.

Taapsee Pannu’s Work Front

Taapsee was last seen in the action thriller film ‘Gandhari’, which also starred Ishwak Singh, Chhaya Kadam, Swastika Mukherjee and Mita Vashisht. The film premiered on Netflix on September 3, 2026.
