In July this year, Ram Charan underwent surgery for a wrist injury at Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore after he suffered an accident while shooting for his upcoming film Peddi. The actor had sustained an injury to his right wrist and delayed the surgery as he had to complete his promotional duties. The actor suffered a cartilage tear while shooting intense wrestling sequences for Peddi, in which he plays a sportsman.

His latest health update suggests that Ram Charan is finally on the next stage of his recovery. He has now had his wrist cast and rods removed.

Ram Charan suffered a sports-related triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) tear, which was diagnosed in May. The injury happened while he was shooting for Buchi Babu Sana’s Peddi, in which he plays a wrestling champion and had to perform physically demanding wrestling and action sequences. When initial non-surgical treatment did not help, the actor eventually had to undergo surgery.

Ram Charan has now reached another milestone in his recovery, with his cast and wrist rods removed. He is expected to begin a 10-week physiotherapy programme as the next step in his rehabilitation.

A few months earlier, Ram Charan had also suffered an eyelid injury while shooting in Hyderabad, following which he underwent a minor procedure. His father, Megastar Chiranjeevi, later took to social media to thank the doctor who treated him.

A picture of Ram Charan from his hospital bed was earlier widely shared on social media. He was seen posing with the medical team, giving fans a reassuring glimpse of his recovery.

The production house behind Peddi, Vriddhi Cinemas, had also shared a statement that read, “We are happy to know that our beloved Mega Power Star Ram Charan Garu has successfully undergone wrist surgery for an injury sustained during the shoot of Peddi. Despite the discomfort, he continued shooting and completed crucial portions of the film with remarkable dedication and commitment. His passion, perseverance, and unwavering professionalism have been truly inspiring to the entire team. We are glad to know that he is doing well. We wish him a smooth and speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back in the best of health very soon.”

Even as he takes time to recover from his wrist injury, Ram Charan has another film in the works. The actor has reportedly begun preparing for RC17, his next collaboration with director Sukumar. The two previously worked together on Rangasthalam, which went on to become a major success.

For RC17, Ram Charan is expected to sport a noticeably different look. While he has been maintaining a bulkier physique for Peddi, he is now reportedly working towards a leaner body for Sukumar’s action entertainer. The actor is said to be following a specially planned diet along with a workout routine to get into character.

The film is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers, with Devi Sri Prasad composing the music. RC17 is reportedly eyeing a theatrical release in 2028, although the makers have not announced an official release date yet.
